It’s never easy to find the perfect kids’ party entertainer and it’s even trickier when you have little guests of different ages and genders. My son wanted a superhero, my daughter a fairy. So we scrapped the character party altogether and opted for something that all kids love…dancing!
When it comes to dazzling disco parties, the experts are without a doubt Bop Till You Drop. They are a national party specialist who have been entertaining for over 20 years and are the best at doing the impossible – getting all the party kids engaged and having a blast (so the grown-ups can chat and maybe even have a glass or two of vino).
My daughter recently went to a Bop Till Your Drop school holiday workshop and she had the best time. I was blown away at how well the mini-course was run and the professional performance that the kids put on after only 2 days.
So I had high expectations when we booked Bop Till You Drop for our kids’ party (who were turning 5 and 7). And let me tell you, I certainly was not disappointed. In fact, my kids have already asked to book them again for next year.
Bop Till You Drop are the original disco, dance and karaoke party entertainers and over the last few years, they have expanded their repertoire to include other activities – such as sports, science, slime, arts & craft and Frozen-themed parties. They also offer combo parties such as photo booth & disco, or pamper & disco. I know when my girls are a little older, they are going to love the stretch hummer & disco combo.
We decided to opt for the sports disco combo party as my kids love getting active just as much as they love boogying.
The party got going straight away with fun and creative parachute games, followed by an action-packed obstacle course and tee-ball skills (similar to baseball).
After sports, the kids had a short break for ice-blocks and snacks and then the disco dancing began.
During the break, the BTYD entertainers had set up a full-on karaoke system – complete with kid-height microphones. Our kids were called up as the first superstars and got to stand up in front of their friends and sing along to their favourite songs.
Before the party, we gave Bop Till You Drop a list of our kids’ pick of songs so they knew all the words to the popular music. The entertainers stood up front and taught the kids simple dance moves and played games while the kids bopped away, spontaneously dancing with each other. Even the parents got into their groove.
Each kid had a turn to come up to sing at the microphone and feel like royalty. Our kids had a few turns up at the front and their smiles couldn’t get any bigger.
About 10 minutes before the end of the party, the entertainers paraded the kids to the cake and after the Happy Birthday’s, they led the kids back to do one final song, giving us precious time to cut the cake without the hoards of cake-crazy children.
The kids left on a musical high, with all the parents telling us it was the best party they’ve been to. I have to agree and it certainly was the easiest party we’ve had. It was amazing to have the BTYD entertainers keep the kids busy so we could just enjoy the fun (and chat to the grown-ups with a glass of bubbly).
Bop Till You Drop is really a one-stop-shop for kids’ birthdays. Not only do they take care of the entertainment, but they also offer delicious catering boxes, a party bag shop, t-shirts, a light up dance floor and invitations.
They are guaranteed to make any party a success – and just like us, you’ll be booking them year after year.

We had Bop till you drop for a 2 Hour Science party for my Daughter’s 8th B’day party. They are super easy to communicate with and can get you all setup very quickly. The host arrived on time and was very engaging. The Kids did not move from their seats for the entire duration. Definitely recommend getting them to lift up your b’day parties.
