Do I need a big space for the sports section?
Yes you need to have a big backyard, at least 8m x 8m or thereabouts. This can also be done in a large hall.
Is this suitable for boys and girls?
Yes it is the ideal party as the children get the best of both worlds. Both girls and boys love the sports and the disco. The combination means the children never get bored and are constantly enthused.
Does each child receive an award?
No, only the birthday child receives a special Medal for being the champion birthday child.
How many children should I invite?
We suggest 15 – 30 children is the ideal number to create the disco party atmosphere. However we can do parties with less or more, we always make sure all the children are engaged and having fun. Please ask us for extra children charges.
What time will the entertainer arrive?
Your entertainer will arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled party start time. This gives them adequate time to meet you and the birthday child and to set up and be ready to go. This also gives you an opportunity to ask questions, give any song requests or discuss any special requirements.
When do the children have a food break?
We always give the children a 15 minute food break in the middle of a 1.5hr party. If the children have eaten beforehand or will eat after, we still need to give them a drink break and the entertainer will use this time to put special tattoos on the children.
When do we do the birthday cake?
We always sing Happy Birthday and cut the birthday cake 10 minutes before the end of the party. Then while you are cutting up the cake we will take the children away to do the award presentation. This allows you to cut up the cake without all the children around you.
Do I need to provide anything for the entertainer?
All the entertainer will need is big, open space for the sports section.
Do I need to do anything during the party?
No, you need to relax and enjoy yourself. You should be socialising with your guests and taking photos. The only thing you will need to do is prepare the food in the food break. The entertainer will organise the children around the table, serve the food and poor drinks.
Are the entertainers ‘screened’?
Yes all the staff and entertainers of Bop till you Drop have been approved by the ‘Working with Children Commission’.
Do I need to provide a parking spot for the entertainer?
Yes the entertainer will need an allocated parking spot as close to your house/venue as possible. There is a lot of heavy equipment to carry and we want the disco to run as smoothly as possible and on time. Please note you will need to pay for parking should free parking not be available. Also don’t forget to give the entertainer clear directions on exactly where your house/venue is located. It is also a great idea to stick a balloon on your front gate.
What if someone hurts themselves, are you insured?
Bop till you Drop has $20 million dollars Public Liability Insurance. If you are hiring a hall and they ask you for insurance, please let us know and we will send them a ‘certificate of currency’. This way you will not have to pay extra for insurance.
What decorations do I need?
We provide two really cool disco lights; these are really effective in creating a spectacular disco atmosphere. If you want any other form of decoration feel free, however please avoid free floating balloons, they are a big distraction. If you really love balloons and streamers, it is best to stick them to the wall. Also avoid chairs in the disco space, the children will be dancing and can sometimes feel self-conscience if adults are sitting and watching, especially in the beginning of a party.
