BTYD Business Spot Light – Cookie Queen Kitsch’n

Cookie Kitsch'n Queen

Bop till you Drop believes in supporting other businesses. If you don’t support other small businesses, how do you expect others to support yours? So we’d like to shine the spotlight on other talented business owners in our industry.

Starting with Cookie Queen Kitsch’nn  Queen. Traci began her business in 2009 when she baked for her baby shower then my daughter’s first birthday.  She says “I began following a number of blogs such as Baked At 350, The Pioneer Woman, Sweetapolita and The Adventures of Sweet Sugarbelle.  These women inspired me to live my passion and do something that I love, instead of managing call Centres.  I started out as a cookier with a humble Facebook page,  baking and icing two nights a week whilst I worked part time, and my parents had my daughter Monday and Tuesday nights, and this grew over three years until I had the opportunity in 2013 to make my hobby into a full-time business. At this point, I grew my business services and started making desserts, cakes, styling dessert buffets and candy bars. In the last 3-4 years, I have put in a lot of hard work with social media, marketing, charity events and corporate clients to build up my business in the local market.  With almost 12000 followers between my social media accounts, I am extremely proud of the fact that these are organic from word of mouth and hard work.”

What products and or services do you specifically offer?

I specialise in Custom Cookies for all occasions, along with petite dessert pots, marshmallow pops, cakes, cupcakes, cakepops, and unique desserts upon request. I offer a range of options and packages, on our new website we have made it easier with some great value packages for customers to choose from, which include combined candy bar and dessert table with options and bonuses included. Candy bars are a great option to add theming to your party room, along with it double as an activity for guests to fill themselves and they are their take home favour bag.

Explain a typical process a customer would expect when working with you.

I love to work with my clients individually to create what they need or envisage for their event, sometimes this is just a custom set of cookies made to match their theme or invitation, other times it is a dessert table along side what theme they have been working on already.  We can bring a dream to life, I have a passion for creating and styling events.  Once we lock in all the aspects and desserts then I set about to bake and create these in the week of their event.  All items are baked fresh with high quality ingredients, eggs are sourced weekly from our local Orange Grove Markets straight from the farm.  For dessert tables and candy bars we arrive 90-60 minutes prior to the event start time and commence the setup, we bring the table, cloths, stands, backdrop, styling items and my trusty kit and I set about setting up my masterpiece in time for the event.  We can also arrange added extras like personalised backdrops, balloons and hire props, options are endless.

What’s your favourite or memorable product you’ve made to date and why?

I have had a few big corporate opportunities which I am proud of, getting 1500 – 2000 cookies out in under 10 days I have done a few times which is a mammoth effect for a small business. In these instances, I often get the cookie cutter designed myself so the client receives a unique product. We were thrilled to get the opportunity to supply Bop Til You Drop with their custom cookie favour – the unique design is exclusive to BTYD and we love that we can do that.

What’s your favourite or memorable party you’ve serviced to date and why?

It’s hard to narrow to just one, but a couple of my memorable events are:
1. Great Gatsby Candy Bar for 250 guests for the Westpac Customer Service Awards Night with Personalised Backdrop to set the theme.

2. Jeweller’s Launch Party in a wedding setup for 100 invitees.

3. A huge 500 guest Circus 1st Birthday featuring 2 large rustic wagons brought in to display the desserts.

4. Our recent Sleep Unicorn Cakepops which have been a huge hit all round!

  • We just hired Bop till you Drop to do a virtual birthday party for my 8 year old and I was soooo impressed. They did it through zoom, but they must have used professional equipment as the sound and image was amazing. Cathy the host was so friendly, energetic and full of life. My daughter and her friends loved it and didn’t want it to end. It was so nice seeing all the girls and boys on screen dancing and laughing. Cathy made my daughter feel so special. At first she was disappointed that she couldn’t have all her friends over, but by the end she was thanking me and even asked if we could do the same party next year. Thank you Bop till you Drop, you guys are a life saver!!!

  • Just a quick note to pass on our thanks for Emily’s Bop Till You Drop 5th Bday Disco party on the weekend. Lexi was amazing!! She kept the kids engaged and entertained throughout the whole party, and the disco was an absolute hit with the kids (and parents!). Lexi transformed our lounge room with her disco lights and everyone had a ball singing on the microphones, playing party games and showing off their best dance moves. The birthday girl was so happy her favourite songs were played and she felt the centre of attention. Also wonderful that even with her recently broken arm, Emily was able to join in all the games, singing, dancing and activities – in fact I think she completely forgot she had a broken arm! Have already heard from a number of parents that their kids would now like a disco party too. And of course Emily loved the party so much she wants to do the same thing next year! Thanks again.

  • We have just had the best school disco in years! All the kids enjoyed themselves and the energy and excitement from both Stacey and our students was amazing. All students from Kindy to Year 6 had a wonderful night, being able to get up on stage to dance and sing to their favourite song was great to see, Stacey did an amazing job! Thank you!
