We stopped and spoke with Teresa from She Baked about what the top trends in birthday cakes are for 2019 and these are the results.
Drip cakes are popular with all ages and for all different celebrations. It’s not hard to guess why, who doesn’t want to scoop up dripping icing with their finger!
Perfect for kids and kids at heart. Topped with anything from lollypops, to chocolate, and all manner of sweet treats. These tempting towers are certainly a delight.
Ok, rainbow pretty much anything still goes. Rainbow inside, rainbow icing, rainbow toppers. Bright rainbows, pastel rainbows. They will always be a crowd pleaser.
These started to appear in 2018 and 2019 will see the naked trend continue for the teen to twenty something scene. It’s casual elegance will keep it on trend for a while to come.
We haven’t seen the back of the unicorn craze. Not only as kids come to the age where unicorns are life, cake makers are adopting and adapting the trend to many other animals. Teresa has herself made a llama, horse, and bunny in the same style.
6 Cookie numbers
The decorated cookie burst on to the scene and for those with birthdays after its peak and with cookie number fomo the trend will stick around. This is a great trend for significant number birthday parties too.

We had Bop till you drop for a 2 Hour Science party for my Daughter’s 8th B’day party. They are super easy to communicate with and can get you all setup very quickly. The host arrived on time and was very engaging. The Kids did not move from their seats for the entire duration. Definitely recommend getting them to lift up your b’day parties.
